The Winnebago (Ho-Chunk) people are native to the Great Lakes Region of the United States including portions of present-day states of Wisconsin, Minnesota, and parts of Iowa and Illinois. Now known as two distinct Nations: the Ho-Chunk in Wisconsin and the Winnebago in Nebraska.
