Eldora Lorenzini, a native of Colorado, earned a B.A. degree from Colorado State College of Education (University of Northern Colorado). After teaching for a few years she attended the School of Fine Arts at Yale University, graduating second in her class. Lorenzini also studied at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center (formerly the Broadmoor Art Academy), The Kirkland School of Art, and Denver Women's College.
An accomplished muralist, Lorenzini won a federal jury design competition to create a mural for the Post Office in Hebron, Nebraska. The mural was part of the federal government's Treasury Relief Art Project (TRAP). Titled, "Stampeding Buffaloes Stopping the Train", the mural was installed in 1939.
Lorenzini never married and was self supporting throughout her lifetime, she funded her educational pursuits through portrait painting and domestic work and later worked as an illustrator for the Chrysler Corporation in Detroit, assisting to design tanks for military use. Following her work with Chrysler, she attended the University of Alabama, studing space technology and later worked for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for the remainder of her career.
