An hour long documentary highlighting the life and work of master Swedish-American painter, Birger Sandzén.  The program was created for Colorado Public Television by the award-winning producer and director, Joshua Hassel, who specializes in films about art and architecture.  The film offers an in-depth biographical look at Sandzén and features a number of the artist's best works.

Swedish-American artist Birger Sandzén (1871 – 1954), who studied in Skara, Stockholm and Paris, immigrated to Kansas at the end of the 19th Century.  In this remote part of the country, the artist found spectacular vistas and in depicting them, he created masterpieces.  Inspired by the landscape of Colorado, Utah and Kansas his vibrant colorful paintings pushed at the limits of early modernism and moved towards abstraction
