Pair of antique 19th century Southern Plains beaded hight top moccasins, circa 1880. Constructed of native tanned hide with bison soles, glass trade beads and German silver conchas. Moccasins are beaded in light blue, white and dark blue with buffalo track motif, crosses and geometric elements. Legging style uppers are partially beaded in red, white, blue and yellow with eleven German silver conchas on each. The hide is rubbed with yellow ochre. The Southern Plains Native American Indian group is comprised of several tribes including Kowa, Comanche, Kiowa-Apache, Southern Arapaho, Southern Cheyenne and Delaware.
