A native of Iowa and raised in Denver, Mildred Pneuman is best known for her landscape paintings of the West primarily those of Colorado and New Mexico.
She graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in History. She then moved to California where she taught art lessons between 1921-23. Pneuman married and the couple settled in Indiana. Following her husband's death in 1942, she returned to Boulder and completed her Master's Degree in Art four years later.
She served as President of the Boulder Artist's Guild and was a Fellow of the International Institute of the Arts and Literature of Geneva, Switzerland.
