Born in Denver, Colorado in 1908, Paschal Quackenbush (Pat Quackenbush) began his art studies under Helen Perry at North High School. He also studied at the Chappell School of Art in Denver under Anne Ritter. He won a scholarship to the Art Students League in New York where he studied under Thomas Hart Benton. Quackenbush painted murals in Chicago prior to moving back to Denver where he worked with Allen Tupper True on murals in the State Capitol Rotunda. He created various murals throughout Denver including interior murals at the Mayan Theater as well as at the University of Utah and the University of Wyoming. Paschal Quackenbush was a founding member of the Denver Artists Guild.
