A native of Pennsylvania, Willard Nash studied in Detroit with John P. Wicker; in Santa Fe, New Mexico with Andrew Dasburg, circa 1922-28. Taught: Broadmoor Art Academy, 1931 (summer); San Francisco Art School; Art Center School, Los Angeles. Member of Cinco Pintores group in Santa Fe, (formed in 1921).
