Henrietta Elizabeth Bromwell (Elisabeth Henrietta Bromwell), the daughter of congressman, Henry Pelham Holmes Bromwell, was born in Illinois in 1859. She moved to Denver with her father and brother following the death of her mother and sister. In Denver, she attended Wolfe Hall Episcopal School. In 1893, she became a founder of the Artist's Club of Denver (forerunner to the Denver Art Museum). Bromwell is known for her oil and watercolor landscape paintings of the Colorado mountains. Her work is in the collection of the Western History Department of the Denver Public Library and the Colorado Historical Society.
