Drypoint etching with a view from Fiesole looking down on the rooftops of Florence with the Duomo. The Tuscan hillside is shown in the background with rain falling. Monogrammed within the plate, not pencil signed. This image is from a sketch Burr made while traveling in Europe between 1896-1901. He created the etchings in his studio following his return to the United States. Most date to circa 1905, Burr continued to create engravings of his sketches until circa 1930.
