Additional Information
Vintage Navajo Double Saddle Blanket, woven in the early 20th century, likely 1920s. Woven of native handspun wool in natural fleece colors of white/ivory with aniline dyed orange yellow and black. The unique split design of this southwestern textile includes four stylized maltese cross motifs at each corner of the first half and four checkerboard elements at each corner of the second half, all against a beautiful variegated ivory (white) ground.
This textile is well suited for use as a wall hanging and can be displayed in a vertical or horizontal format. It will also serve well as a bed covering or furniture throw.
