The Native American Indian cultural region defined as Northeast Woodlands extends from the Atlantic coast to the Great Lakes, and from the mid-Atlantic United States to the subarctic regions of Canada. Native American Indian tribes associated with the northeastern woodlands include the Algonquin, Chippewa (Ojibwa), Delaware (Lenni Lenape), Great Lakes, Huron, Iroquois, Mesquakie, Micmac, Potawatomi, Prairie, Seneca, Shawnee, Winnebago, Woodlands, Nipissing and Eastern Sioux.
