About the Artist
Clark was raised in Argentina and studied painting and commercial illustration at the Grand Central Gallery in New York. While heading west to California in 1928, he became enchanted by Santa Fe, New Mexico, and decided to make it his permanent home. He created a number of woodblock and wood engravings depicting the landscape and culture of New Mexico. The Museum of Fine Arts of New Mexico held a retrospective of his work in 1992.
