About the Artist

Jean Sahme Nampeyo is a Hopi Tewa potter. she lives in the village of Hano at First Mesa on the Hopi Reservation and is a descendent of the Nampeyo family. Her mother was Priscilla Namingha Nampeyo and her great-great-grandmother was the renowned potter Nampeyo of Hano.
