Artist Biography - George Carter (1908-1987)
George Cecil Carter was born in Oklahoma in 1908. He moved to Colorado where he worked for Schneebeck’s Industries as a miner and machinist for 20 years. During this time, he studied art with his mentor, Charles Ragland Bunnell. George Carter established himself as a notworthy abstract expressionist and his work was exhibited throughout the United States including Illinois and Texas.
