Artist Biography - James Russell Sherman (1906-1989)

James Russell Sherman was born in Iowa and later moved with his family to ranches in Nebraska and Colorado. He was a member of Art Student's League, New York (1923-31), attended the Kansas Art Institute (1927-31) and studied under Thomas Hart Benton, John Steuart Curry, George Picken, and Harry Steinberg.
