Vintage 1960s original signed large oil painting on canvas by 20th century Colorado woman artist, Mary Chenoweth (1918-1999). Modernist painting of a blue bicycle with orange slices for wheels. Semi abstract art with gray, white and orange circles and a blue scallop running along the bottom edge with a medium tan brown background. Presented in a custom white float frame, outer dimensions measure 52 ½ x 69 x 2 inches. Image size is 51 ¼ x 67 ½ inches.

Artist Biography - Mary Chenoweth (1918-1999)

Graduated from Denver University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1950. While at Denver University, she studied under Vance Kirkland. Chenoweth went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Illinois. Following her return to Colorado, she taught at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center (formerly the Broadmoor Academy). Chenoweth later joined the faculty at Colorado College where she served as an art professor for three decades. Chenoweth worked in a variety of mediums including sculpture, painting, drawing and printmaking. She carved a set of doors for the Colorado College Bemis Art School.
