Southern Plains Quirt with Pictorial Carved Antler Handle, 19th century
Southern Plains India Quirt, possibly Kiowa. Pictorial antler handle with etched images on both sides. Imagery includes a horse and hunter spearing an elk. Wrist strap and braided whip are buffalo hide. Antler handle measures approximately 8 inches, overall length including strap and whip measures 36 ½ inches.
