Artist Biography - Preston McCrossen (1894-1981)

Preston McCrossen was born in Michigan in 1894. He married fellow artist, Helen Cramp, in New York in 1922. The couple lived for a time in California before settling permanently in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1930. In Santa Fe, they went into business with Preston's brother to establish McCrossen Handwoven Textiles, Inc. Following a separation from Helen, Preston married artist, Miki Hayakawa, in 1947.
